The TORCH Foundation is funded by New MexicoDepartment of Health - Public Health Division to do Prevention Education regarding HIV / AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Primarily this is done through Sierra County community events, presentations to clubs and organizations in the community, and sometimes at the invitation of teachers or school administrators. We also support and train a small group of HIV Youth Peer Educators who make presentations directed to at-risk teens and pre-teens. All Department of Health money is used to support educational efforts in the community.

Although it is not necessary to be present in order to win the table, the community is always invited and cordially  welcomed to participate in World AIDS Day activities. Watch for more details in comming weeks.

Now in it's ninth year, The TORCH Foundation also continues its mission to be available to those living with HIV / AIDS, providing support in small tangible ways, referral and information services, and modest financial assistance  when needed. We depend on many volunteers and caring individuals in the community to make our programs succesful. Mission Statement

T.ORC.H. ( an acronym for Truth or Consequences Helps) is a non-profit 501 - C.3 Corporation,comprised of  concern and caring citizens who provide support, referral and information services to those living with
HIV / AIDS,and their families and friends. T.ORC.H. also provides prevention education about HIV /  AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases to the community

Our work

Asist Sierra County residents, who are infected by
 HIV / AIDS, their famalies and friends.


Educate At-risk groups in Sierra County regarding risk reduction behaviors.


Commited to providing education to stop the spread of
HIV / AIDS.


Provides community events for World AIDS Day
(December 1) and the International AIDS memorial and Mobilization (mid-May)


Supplies hundreds of red ribbons for schools and organizations it the community as well as the community at large.

Supports activities financed by private donations and fud-raising events

Our History

The T.ORC.H. foundation was organized in August of 1993 to assitst Sierra County residents, their family  and friends who are infected or affected by HIV / AIDS. Providing emotional support, food, clothing, care, transportation, household and automotive repairs and respite care when need has been made known, exemplify out  support activities.

Became incorporated in 1995.

Contracted with NMDOH / PHD to do HIV / AIDS / STD Prevention Education in Sierra County
